Bethesda and id Software are keeping their promise on the timing of the closed beta for Quake Champions. The publisher and developer, respectively, announced that fans can now sign up for the closed beta for the latest entry in the popular FPS series.
In addition to the announcement, the studio also created a new website where you can find out more information about each champion, arena, and weapon. You can also use it to sign up for the beta session, although the studio hasn’t revealed when that will start. There’s also a new trailer that you can watch that shows off even more gameplay footage.
Prior to the closed beta, fans were able to see some extended gameplay at Quakecon, where id Software hosted an exhibition match between groups of competitive players. The game was officially announced at E3 last year.
Even with the closed beta announcement, the game might still be far from its final version. The beta might go on for some time before the studio believes the game is ready for release. Other than the closed beta, you’ll be able to play the game this weekend at PAX East in Boston.
